Minecraft Dungeons II Editions and Price: Standard vs Deluxe, Pre-Order Bonus

The two editions at a glance

Both editions are on Steam, the Microsoft/Xbox app, PS5, Switch and Switch 2. Prices outside the US vary by region and store.

What the Deluxe Edition adds

The Deluxe Edition is the base game plus three cosmetic bundles and the season pass equivalent:

• 4 hero skins — cosmetic looks for your hero.
• Soul cape — a cosmetic cape; capes are a visible gear slot in cutscenes and menus.
• Blub pet — a cosmetic pet companion that follows you.
• DLC packs 1 & 2 — delivered “as released,” which is how the original Minecraft Dungeons structured its Jungle Awakens / Creeping Winter style expansions.

If you plan to play for months, Deluxe is effectively the bundle-and-save option. If you just want the base experience, Standard plus Game Pass covers it.

The pre-order bonus (closed)

The pre-order window ran from June 6, 2026 (12pm PDT) to September 28, 2026 (12pm PDT) at participating retailers. It included:

• 2 additional hero skins — officially shown as Steve and Alex skins
• the Twisted cape
• the Twisted chicken pet

Game Pass and editions

Xbox Wire confirmed day-one availability with Game Pass (Ultimate and PC). In practice:

• Game Pass Ultimate / PC Game Pass: play the full base game on day one as part of the subscription.
• Want the Deluxe extras? They are sold as a separate upgrade — subscriptions do not include skins, capes, pets or the DLC packs.
• Buying Standard outright keeps it in your library permanently, which matters when a game leaves Game Pass — something the original Dungeons did after its lifecycle ended.

Which should you buy?

• Solo or casual: Standard, or Game Pass if you already subscribe.
• Long-term fan of the original: Deluxe — the DLC-as-released structure mirrors the first game’s expansion cadence, and the cosmetics are exclusive to this edition.
• Split decision in a co-op group: cosmetics are personal flair, so only the person who actually wants the skins and pets needs Deluxe. Everyone plays the same connected world either way.
